The COVID-19 pandemic took a significant toll on young people’s mental health. It created soaring rates of anxiety, depression and other challenges. Hear Dr. Abraham’s tips for how parents and caregivers can use conversations to better connect with their kids and help them cope.

A Champion for Young People

Dr. Abraham brings 25 years of experience to her leadership role in adolescent health. She joined Children’s National as an Adolescent Medicine fellow in the 1990s. She returned in 2021, after serving as a military doctor and living abroad. Previously, Dr. Abraham was chief of Adolescent Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

She was on the faculty at the University of Amsterdam and Chinese University of Hong Kong. She offers insights on youth as a public speaker and is the author of Raising Global Teens: Parenting in the 21st Century.
